Mindy McCallum and Micah Brooks Tied The Knot! January 22, 2011

Mindy and Micah chose a wonderful and very romantic setting for their wedding.  The temperature was  cold, but the group huddled around their choice of one of the three working fireplaces at Greenwood. After a bit, the food and beverages warmed everyone up and the party got started.

The cake was beautiful, Angie Murrell of Best Cakes did a great job and the groom's cake looked just like a suitcase!  The bouquets and centerpieces were all succulents and natural.  The look was fresh and earthy, a welcome change and very unique.  Fleur de Jour did an awesome job of giving the bride exactly what she wanted.  One beautiful expression of the bride's environmentalistic views was the grouping of sterling silver antiques with succulents in them that were placed on each outside table.  So different, and so very Mindy.

Then in the outdoor kitchen we placed a few fast pick up food items and the bar.  To the side Mindy had created a Photo Booth, complete with a chalk board, chalk, a feather boa, and other fun props.  Rumor has it that there was alot of giggling going on as everyone struck a pose!

Guests received a favor of a Sweet Bay Magnolia Tree seedling wrapped in burlap.  Again, very different, very simple, yet beautiful.

Guests loved our smoked beef brisket, crawfish etoufee, crawfish bread, spinach madeleine, fruited chicken salad croissants, mini blt's, voodoo cones and several other items.

Thompson Photography was everywhere at this wedding and reception and I can't wait to see the professional shots!

Best Catered Events wishes Mr. and Mrs. Brooks a wonderful life together!

Jessica Partin and Stuart Sonnier - December 10, 2010

Louisiana's Old State Capitol was the location chosen by the bride and groom for their winter reception in Baton Rouge, LA, on Friday, December 10, 2010.

Best Catered Events provided the food and beverages for the evening. Guests arrived to an open bar and passed h'd's chosen by the happy couple for the occasion.  Kyleen Kiger-Smith of Fairy Dust Cakes  made awesome cakes, Cottage Path Florist provided the beautiful  fresh  florals and  Allie Wester of Weddings by Allie coordinated both the wedding and the evening's reception activities.  This crowd loved to dance, and dance they did to the sounds of  The Carbon Copy Band.

We could tell early on that this crowd would have a good time.  The bride's dad, Mr. Joe Partin, was Best Catered Events owner, Dianne Evans former boss at Zachary High School and we were honored to cater this event for the family.  The night seemed to end almost as quickly as it began.  So many former personnel from ZHS were on hand, it was so good to visit and "catch up".

Jessica and Stuart,  may your lives  be blessed with memories as wonderful as the ones you made on December 10, 2010.  Hold them close to your chests and be thankful for every moment of each day.  Best Catered Events wishes you all the best and a heartfelt "thank you" from the bottom of our hearts.

TARA GOT MARRIED!!!! DECEMBER 18, 2010

Best Catered Events provided the catering services for this wedding reception, Saturday evening, December 18, 2010 at the Alexandria Riverfront Center in beautiful downtown Alexandria, LA.

The bride loves red,,,.deep, dark red and there were accents everywhere in this ballroom. The BCE team created a caramel apple bar with Kathy and David Jones creating the dip and roll apples to order with red apples and a candy "bar" with all red and silver candies served by our attendant, Brenda LaBorde into shiny black Asian boxes. Did you want a Blow Pop or York Peppermint Pattie, or maybe a Twizzler or a cherry sour?

The food tables were decorated in black and silver, once again by the BCE team.  The bride definitely had a vision, and she and her decorators from the Dallas, TX area executed that vision beautifully.  We loved the bistro tables during the cocktail hour in the lobby, where guests were greeted by team members Jill, Cassie, and Brenda armed with trays of drinks and salmon mousse on a slipper spoon, voodoo cheese in mini cones, ham and asparagus rolls, shrimp mouse in mini martini glasses, and our Southern pork rolls.

Once the doors to the main ballroom opened, the jaws dropped as the vision was revealed...such attention to detail..,.detail....detail.  Each table was so unique and the bride's personality was really reflected.

Best Catered Events enjoyed working with Jacole', the day of coordinator and her entire team of professionals.  The wedding cake was gorgeous, full of crystals and bling and wowed the crowd.  The Cake Barn provided both that cake and the Green Bay Packers groom's cake.

This reception was unique, personal, well executed and definitely a show stopper.  Best Catered Events, always working with each bride to help create their "Vision".

Best Wishes To The Newlyweds!!!!

12-18-2010 Reception @ Loyd Hall Plantation

Best Catered Events provided food and service for the reception on Saturday, December 18th at Loyd Hall.
The ceremony took place in the front of the home and the guests all gathered on the porch for this intimate and very personal wedding.

We did our black and silver look on the food tables and with the chill in the air, the hot apple cider and flavored coffee station were both popular items of the day.

The cakes were so detailed and absolutely breathtaking.  The groom's cake was a stack of law books, you actually were tempted to open one up!

The bride was beautiful, the groom very handsome and the whole afternoon was picture perfect. Best Catered Events really enjoys working with Eddie Ponce at Loyd Hall on events.

Dianne Evans and the entire staff of Best Catered Events wish the newlyweds all the best!

Sunshine Foundation Gala - Louisiana Old Governor's Mansion - Baton Rouge, LA

Best Catered Events was pleased to be asked to participate in the Sunshine Foudation Gala at The Louisiana Old Governor's Mansion in Baton Rouge, LA.

Chef Shane Smith prepared a Cajun-Asian Dish that  we fondly call.....Cajun-Asian Pork Salad.  We set up our display out on the rotunda in the brisk evening air and had a wonderful time visiting with all the attendees and serving up this unique dish.  There was a huge silent auction and a very entertaining live auction taking place with awesome items and alot of money was raised for this worthwhile cause.

Caryn Roland of Heirloom Cuisine did a nice job coordinating all of the food vendors, and we appreciate her placement of our table outside.
