Picnic At South - Sunday, October 30, 2011

Sunday, October 30, 2011 was a great day for the members of South Baton Rouge Church of Christ.  The church held it's Sunday service at their property on Highland Road in Baton Rouge, Louisiana with lunch immediately afterwards.

Best Catered Events provided 4 serving lines for the 500 guests and served up a very hearty Fall meal of
Smoked Pork Loin with an Apricot Chutney, Sweet Potato Casserole, Homestyle Green Beans, Garden Salad w/Ranch, French Bread and good old fashioned Apple Crisp for dessert.

Having catered for this group several times, we like the challenge of doing the service faster and we beat our own record this year.  We fed everyone in just under 15 minutes!  Not bad for some Oldie but Goodie Folks like us.  Of course, we do have a few members that are under the age of fifty, but as a team, we really work together well.

Special thanks once again for the committee that selected Best Catered Events to provide the luncheon meal.  We look forward to working with you again in the future....who knows, we may eventually get down the serving time to under 10 minutes! But on second thought, don't hold your breath....we are getting older!

October 29, 2011 Kevin and Ashley Barton

Greenwood Plantation once again provided a beautiful backdrop for the wedding of Kevin Barton and Ashley Burychka on Saturday, October 29, 2011.

Guests had the pleasure of listening to the Magnolia Strings while awaiting the bride and her father.  The aisle was covered in all shades of rose petals and the sand ceremony was truly emotional and very personal.

After the ceremony the attendees were greeted by Best Catered Events' team members Bonnie Baxley and Brenda Kelly passing seafood mushrooms and stuffed new potatoes.  The main food table offered shrimp and crawfish pasta, green bean bundles, mini blt's, black bean and corn dip with chips, mini muffelettos, ham and asparagus roll ups, grilled vegetables, brisket, ham, and fresh fruit and cheese.

The cakes were very unique and they were exquisite in detail.  Sweet Impressions provided both cakes and Allie Wester and her team from Weddings by Allie coordinated the entire evening's activities.  Rex Photo Booths set up in the rear of the house and everyone just loved dressing up and taking photos.  X Pert D J Services provided the music for the reception. A K Photography got all the day's happenings documented on film and they did a great job!

Charlotte and the entire staff at Greenwood Plantation always do a great job and today was no exception.

Ryan Hedlund and Kathryn Drake - October 15,2010

Greenwood Plantation provided a perfect setting for the marriage of  Ryan Hedlund and Kathryn Drake.  This couple had been planning their special day for a long time.  So many family and friends came in for the  weekend to share in the enjoyment and celebration with them.

Best Catered Events provided the food for the event and the bride and groom gave their guests a little taste of Louisiana.  Dancing, music, food, family and friends made an absolute South Louisiana Experience.

Ultimate Bridal Show - Sunday, October 23, 2011

The Louisiana Old Governor's Mansion was filled up and overflowing with future brides looking for ideas and inspirations for their wedding day.  Lots of excitement and plenty of questions were the topic of the day, as was the food, entertainment, florals, accessories, photographers, musicians, accessories, bridal gowns, and anything else needed to create storybook weddings and dream come true for these future brides.

Best Catered Events owner, Dianne Evans enjoyed visiting with lots of brides and their moms and fiances.  Answering questions and offering up samples made for a very fast afternoon.

This owner also enjoyed seeing old friends Martha Smith, owner of Al Smith Catering and Cheryl, owner of Ambrosia Bakery.  We also visited with Matt Blankenship of X Pert DJ Service, Louisiana Wedding Music, Warren Conerly Photography, Brides On a Budget, Mojeaux, Carolyn Roland of Heirloom Cuisine, Chef Don Bergeron, owner of Chef Don Bergeron Catering, and too many others to remember.  We are always so busy and these shows give us the opportunity to visit for a minute and catch up.
