City Park Players Gala Awards Ceremony

City Park Players held their annual gala on Friday, November 20, 2009 at Coughlin Sanders Auditorium in downtown Alexandria, LA.
Best Catered Events created action and stationary food stations for the event. We featured our Loaded Baked Potato Soup and Showdown Chili Bar for "Flying West". "Driving Miss Daisy" featured Chef Shane Smith creating chicken crepes with mango salsa. Social Security featured
our sweet and sour meatballs and chicken pasta, while Black Jack featured our Black Jack Magic. Staff members Wendy Chapman, Shawna Anderson, Jenny Dunkley, Sara Richardson, Pat Jones and Kathy Jones attended to the guests with passed appetizers for the opening ceremony. The evening ended with dessert being served upon exit.

Jo Jo's Florist in Bunkie

Best Catered Events participated in Jo Jo's Florist Holiday Open House tonight. We had a great evening visiting with all the shoppers. JoJo's son in law played the guitar and sang. What a nice touch. We served Voodoo, Chicken Cordon Bleu Pasta and almond iced tea.
The shop was overflowing with treasures when we arrived and after 3 hours of frantic shopping, it was really looking bare! The customers loved all the neat finds and the 15% discount helped as well. This chef/owner even made a couple of purchases.
Such a nice evening. I enjoyed visiting with some of my regular and new customers. We even booked an event!

Best Catered Events and Rick Ferguson Flowers

Best Catered Events joined Rick Ferguson Flowers for a Holiday Open House today. Lots of shoppers came by to tour the shop and get an early jump on holiday shopping. We were joined by David Luck, a local Alexandria, LA author who signed copies of his newest book, Too Fat To Dance.

Best Catered Events served a fresh berry and spinach salad and our "Voodoo". Many nice compliments were received and we booked a few events this afternoon as well.

The shop was decorated fabulously both inside and out. I fell in love with several things and Kathy and Pat each bought some "treasures".

We would like to thank Rick Ferguson Flowers and staff for a very nice afternoon!

Noel and Josh Got Married

Noel Laderer married Joshua Danos. The reception was held at the beautiful Courtyard on the Ridge in Harahan, LA. Executive Chef Bill Laderer is the bride's father and we assisted Chef Bill with his daughter's wedding. Lamb Chops with a rosemary demi glaze, seared Ahi Tuna in crispy wonton cups, jumbo lump crab nuggets with a ragatute sauce, Oyster Bleus, Filet Kabobs, Cedar Plank Smoked Salmon, fried catfish, Shrimp and Grits Bar, chef action station with made to order gyros, Asian station featuring Vietnamese Spring Rolls with Peanut Sauce, Vegetable Crudite, Shrimp Mousse, cocktail muffalettos, and Voodoo all provided the guests with a wonderful variety of choices.
The premium open bar featured the "Danostini", a purple drink that the guests loved. The Courtyard on the Ridge staff was wonderful to work with. They are some hard working and very friendly staff for sure. Chef Dianne Evans enjoyed assisting a fellow Catersource Forum Buddy to provide a wonderful reception for a beautiful bride and her new husband.

The "Landry Tini"

What a beautiful setting for this reception. I am very sad to report that the memory card on my camera will not let me retrieve the pictures that were taken.
We did a very different look with banana leaves under each chafer, wheatgrass and red apples. The guests enjoyed several passed appetizers and a full premium bar featuring the "Landry Tini" created by our bar staff especially for Carolyn and Kevin on their special day.
Salmon Mousse on a clear slipper spoon, voodoo cheese dip served in a mini martini, ham and asparagus roll ups served on an aster dish, mini crawfish pies served on gold mirrors covered by banana leaves, a grazing table of fruit, cheeses, and crudite which converted to a candy bar for the second half of the evening.
The bride loves chocolate strawberries....I had the kitchen staff create a strawberry "tree" which was presented to the bride and groom at their special table. She loved it!

Mr. Tim Bordelon retired from Exxon in Houston, Tx and he and his wife Darcy have returned to Bordelonville.
Best Catered Events provided food and premium bar services for the event which was held at the beautiful Le Manoir Fleuri in Moreauville, LA. There were family and friends in attendance from Mississippi, Texas and several other states. One guest told us that he had come just to eat something with crawfish! He was excited to learn that we had Louisiana crawfish etoufee on the menu and I saw him at the buffet table at least 3 times. The whole smoked turkeys were one of the favorite foods for Mr. Bordelon.

We certainly enjoyed catering this event and wish Mr. Tim and Mrs. Darcy a very long and fun retirement!

T B I P A C GOLF TOURNAMENT

The TBIPAC Golf Tournament was held on Monday, September 21, 2009 at the beautiful Tamahka Hills Course in Marksville, LA.

Best Catered Events was well represented by our golfers, owner Rick Evans and friend Randy Lavergne of Zachary, LA. The guys competed and although they didn't win, alot of fun and good food and comraderie was enjoyed during their round. Their team score was actually pretty good, or so they said:).

Best Catered Events was set up on Hole 14 and we did our "pressed Po Boy station". Lots of po boys were made to order and enjoyed by the golfers. We enjoyed the day, the weather was hot and humid, but the visiting was great! This was our second year to participate.

Best Catered Events catered the kickoff party for the new season of Grey's Anatomy for ABC Television in Alexandria, LA. Guests enjoyed an antidepressant bar, McDreamy Tini Station, Loaded Baked Potato Soup Bar, Fruit Tinis, Tongue Depressor Candy, Margarita Marinated Shrimp with a cocktail sauce Transfusion, and strawberry Infusions!

Pharmaceutical Rep Lunches!

The pharmaceutical representatives have started calling and setting up lunch for offices in and around Marksville, Bunkie, Alexandria and Pineville. Astra Zeneca, Merck, Stat Home Health, Senacor, Ova Nortic and others are keeping us very busy these days.

We are cooking fresh food and making deliveries to offices and getting alot of really good feedback. They love our food!

Germaine and B.J.Gaspard Got Married!

Germaine planned her wedding for over a year! Camouflage themed decor and cake and so much fun. There were margarita and daquiri machines and a great D.J. to keep the crowd moving and grooving.

At Best Catered Events we believe our clients should be able to taste some of our delicious food.

This past Wednesday we held a tasting for the Jena Merchants Association committee members at our kitchen/office. They are planning an event for November 21, 2009

The committee enjoyed the tasting, and we look forward to working with them on their event!

Dylan at Best Catered Events

Dylan spent time with us at Best Catered Events. He loved helping to "fill the orders". He would be the "transporter" and take the boxes from the kitchen to the bags for delivery.

Dylan was our official greeter and our regular customers learned his name right away! We loved our special time with Dylan....he is a jewel!

Ty Spent 2 Weeks In The Kitchen!

Ty spent two weeks with momo and papaw at Best Catered Events. Every now and then momo would find "something" for him to "cook".

We really enjoyed spending time with each of our grandchildren this summer!

August is busy already!

Best Catered Events is busy already, and booking almost daily for August. We will do our daily lunch service Monday through Thursday and have off premise luncheons on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, followed by 3 events on Saturday the 8th. Thursday promises to be different with the unveiling of our new off premise "potato bar", this particular client loves our "Later Tater" on the daily lunch menu and wants to show it off to 70 others for lunch.
