Venue Recommendation - Ascension Parish, LA

Rarely do I give recommendations for "empty' buildings, but today is an exception!  I met with a future bride earlier today and she was considering a property located on Hwy 431 in St. Amant, LA.

The venue is appropriately called The Venue Rental Hall.  What a surprise for me!  Not only is there a huge concrete parking lot, plenty of lit signing (your guests won't drive by without noticing) and an overall nice, clean  look.  There are several businesses located in the center, such as a wedding planner, notary, hair salon and of course St. Amant Decorating has their showroom there as well.  This complex is a hidden secret if you don't go down Hwy 431.  Best of all, there are 4 different facilities from which to choose, depending on the size of your event and the amount of space needed.

With our South Louisiana weather, you and I both know that a huge percentage of weddings and special events are going to be inside.  The owners didn't even know to expect me and the facility was comfortable, so cold air is definitely a given and a lifesaver with our humid, hot days.

On this visit, I only looked at The Venue that is the largest of the four. This bride plans to have her ceremony in the church, but if it doesn't work out, her plan could allow both her wedding and reception in the same location, and it should work just fine.  There are nice restrooms for women and men, a large stage, big  Projector Screen (for that slideshow or company presentation) and stained concrete floors.  There are 15- 5' round tables in the storage room, so you can use as many or as few as you need for your event. There are white folding chairs, all on racks in the storage room, as well as several long rectangle tables for your use.  The ceilings are quite high and the lighting is very nice and uniform, something you don't usually see in halls.  I also know that the lights are on dimmers so you can create a nice ambiance with little effort.

It is my understanding that you can get as much or as little as you want done at this facility.  There is a DJ room to the right of the stage.  My bride told me that there is a fee, but how great would that be?  No obtrusive equipment and a neat look and no floor space taken up if you have a large crowd!

I can't wait to cater the first Best Catered Event at The Venue in St. Amant!  Pictures will be up after the event, which is scheduled for November 19th.  Kudos to the owners and managers of  The Venue, you have done a wonderful job of providing clean, modern and affordable event facilities for the area!

LaDonna and Dean Schexnyder June 18, 2011

LaDonna Wilson and Dean Schexnyder chose a lovely location for their wedding.  The LaManoir Fleuri in Moreauville was full of family and special friends of this wonderful couple.

When I first met this couple, I knew right away they were going to be fun, and they were.  Immediately upon being pronounced husband and wife, there was a cowbell ringing!

The guests were then greeted by Best Catered Events staff members Brenda LaBorde and Megan Dauzat who served bacon roll ups and voodoo cheese in mini cones.  Best Catered Events owner, Rick Evans and Cassie Parker served refreshments on this hot June evening. Chef Dustin Quibodeaux provided on site food preparation and Stephanie Brown serviced the main table.

The bride chose a beautiful color scheme for the special day with coral, pinks and a hint of purple here and there. The newlyweds were presented and entered into their frist dance together and then the party got started.  Bayou Boys provided the music throughout the evening, Lisa Dupont of Cake Creations made both cakes (which the guests loved) and Best Catered Events provided the food and service for the fun loving couple and all their guests.

A candy bar was set up inside and there was a constant flurry of little (and big) hands on silver scoops and into little boxes (and Pockets).  Several guests were heard complimenting all the little details chosen by the bride for this special day.

LaDonna and Dean....keep on laughing and keep on loving!!  Congratulations from your team at Best Catered Events.  We are honored to have been chosen to serve you.

Aimee Couvillion & Samuel Bates Reception July 24, 2010

Location: Haas Auditorium
Bunkie Louisiana
Aimee booked Best Catered Events as the caterer for her wedding reception because she wanted something different.

Her menu was fabulous! The guests arrived to wait staff passing voodoo in cones on painter's pallets, jalapeno chicken pinwheels on mini silver forks, and shrimp and crab stuffed mushrooms.

A "Sushi Table" was set up with California, Philadelphia and Crunchy rolls, wasabi, pickled ginger and soy sauce. The guests loved the Sushi Table. When the buffet was opened the choices continued with Chicken Cordon Bleu Pasta, Louisiana Crawfish Etoufee with Rice, Spinach, Artichoke and Shrimp Dip, Veggie Pizza Bites, Chicken Salad Croissants, Deviled Eggs, Mini Muffelettos, Apache Bread Dip, Crabmeat Mornay, Smoked Beef Brisket and Peppered Pork Loin with homemade sweet yeast rolls.

Aimee and Sam are such a cute couple, and we wish them all the best!

5th Annual Caribbean Nights-All Night...All White

This event was wonderful! Best Catered Events provided food and service for the VIP tent on the second level of the parking garage in downtown Alexandria, LA on Saturday, April 19, 2010.

Hot Line Band from Lafayette and Opelousas provided wonderful music as did Brion O'Brion D J Service from Ball, LA. An artist provided a showing of her wonderful work and had several framed poetry creations as well available for sale. I saw quite a bit of traffic at her booth. A local caterer provided fried pork ribs and chicken wings, which were wonderful! Yes, I am happy to report that I did indeed try one of each. There was a bar available on both the upper and lower levels and the Cigar Factory from New Orleans, LA provided hand rolled cigars on the upper level, which were a huge hit!

The weather could not have been better and the upper level VIP's enjoyed a traditional buffet of food during the evening. We received many compliments on both the food and the presentation. I saw representatives of the City Park Players and CENLA FOCUS and visited with them during the course of the evening.

Owner Dianne Evans and team member Paul Biddon wish to thank H. Wendell Isadore for allowing us to provide food and service for this event for our second consecutive year. We look forward to 2011!
