Sally Choi and Matthew Rainey-L'Eglise-Abbeville, Louisiana - August 28, 2010


When Sally and Matt first met Dianne Evans of Best Catered Events, they sampled some of the food she was cooking up that day.  The couple were quick to choose their caterer and the planning began. 

The couple chose a perfect location, L'Eglise in Abbeville, LA, for both their ceremony and reception.  A beautiful venue for a beautiful couple.

The couple had alot of difficulty deciding on their menu and came up with one that pleased everyone.
Passed Items offered were: Crawfish & Grits in mini martini glasses

                                          Crab and Shrimp stuffed jumbo mushrooms

                                           Tortilla Roll Ups w/Salsa

Buffet Items Included:           Chicken Cordon Bleu & Shrimp & Bowtie Pastas
                                            Smoked turkey and Smoked Beef Brisket
                                            Spinach and Fruit Salads
                                            Spinach and Artichoke Dip  w/chips
                                            Bacon Roll Ups
                                            Sun Dried tomato and Feta Torte
                                            Finger Sandwiches of Roast, Ham and Turkey

Beer and wine were provided as well as a Sno Cone cart out on the courtyard.

Lunch with Representative Chris Hazel at Melady House-Alexandria, LA

Best Catered Events provided food and service for a luncheon with Representative Chris Hazel of Pineville, LA on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at the beautiful Melady House.

Governor Jindal spoke to the group and lunch was enjoyed by all of those in attendance. 

The menu was: Freshly Baked Chicken Cordon Bleu w/white wine and cream sauce
                          Double Stuffed Potato
                          Grilled Vegetables
                          Sensation Salad
                          Yeast Rolls
                          Crepes with Fresh Fruit and Chantilly Cream
                          Chocolate Mississippi Mud Pie
                          Freshly Brewed Iced Tea

Kristen Chapman and David Montgomery - August 21, 2010





Kristen worked with our catering company for many years part time while in high school and college. We are so excited to cater her special day.

The menu is a complete surprise, but her colors are black, white and hot pink! The Louisiana State Museum is the perfect setting for this fun couple.

We will post after the big day....with the menu and details....we are so looking forward to Saturday!

Well, here goes,..the wedding was beautiful.  Allie Wester of Weddings by Allie, and her assistant did a wonderful job of coordinating the days activities and X-Pert DJ provided perfect tunes for the crowd.  The ceremony was intimate and refreshing.  So much love was shown by Kristen and David to each other that it was indeed a day this caterer won't soon forget.

Here's the menu:::  Voodoo Cones, BLT dip in basil cones, Chicken Cordon Bleu Pasta, Sweet and Sour Meatballs, Bacon Roll Ups, Fresh Spinach, Orange and Walnut Salad w/ honey balsamic vinagrette, Fiesta Bean Dip w/ chips, Chicken Salad Croissants, Mini Muffelettos, Cold Spicy Shrimp Dip with crackers, fresh fruit and cheese, crudite in hot pink shot glasses with chipotle ranch dip, CJ's Cheese Fusion, Peppered Pork Tenderloin and Rolled Ham with freshly baked yeast rolls, and our newest menu item Appalachian Spinach Puffs.

Learning and Sharing our Catering

Best Catered Events owner Dianne Evans, culinary fashionista Lisa Teiger and Chef Andrew Alexander-Crossan of CuisinEtc, NYC began their CaterBuzz Catering Journey on Wednesday, August 3, 2010 in New Orleans, LA.

The caterers drove to Red Fox, Ky where they shared and assisted owner Regina Niece and her team from 4 Star Catering.   We loved 4 Star Catering's  Tuscan Bread Station and Fried Catfish Taco Bar! These are new twists for Best Catered Events, and we learned so many new tricks from this seasoned caterer.

Check out the caterBuzz blogpost on the 4 Star Catering wedding at the Allandale Mansion that caterBuzz team, which I was privileged to be a part of helped with.

From Red Fox, the caterers, traveled to Louisville, Ky for CaterArts 2010. So much education to absorb and food to taste. Friendly competition and sharing and new friendships were the highlight of the week.  Looking forward to sharing some of these new ideas on upcoming Best Catered Events.

collaborate on an north- south fusion dinner in Tennessee

After leaving Louisville, the trio traveled to Jackson, TN, where they assisted Premiere Place Catering and Festivities owners Carl and Angel Jackson with a North South Fusion dinner party.  Carl is also an artistic fruit and melon carver .  Many of his creations can be seen on his website.
Carl promises to visit Louisiana one of these days real soon and teach me his some of carving tricks...

Chefs Andrew Alexander-Crossan and Carl Jones, created a wonderful menu which included Indian fusion cuisine with a north meets south fusion menu highlights included, petit bytes of crispy samosas with Chef Andrew Alexander-Crossan's signature cilantro coconut chutney, as well as superb smoked ribs with homemade bbq rub and sauce by Chef Carl Jones. The party was attended by some of Jackson's finest who thoroughly enjoyed the food, wine and conversation.

Crown Jewel Winery provided some of the fabulous wines for the dinner and this caterer has her favorite for sure!
