Rick and I visited old friends today in Waskom, Tx. Rosemary and Floyd Parker have been our friends since 1990, and they live in Waskom, Texas these days.
Since we were going to be in the Shreveport, LA area they cooked a nice lunch for us on Memorial Day. Floyd has a special hamburger recipe and I tell you..they were moist, and wonderful. Rosemary made a fresh red potato salad and freshly brewed iced tea and we topped it off with Turtle pie.
It was nice to spend the afternoon with our old friends and catch up on our kids and grandchildren. We shared those grandchildren stories and laughed and laughed. They plan
to come visit us in Hessmer soon and ...hmmmm, what will we cook?
Food is such a social thing, and so many memories involve it in some way. This blog contains special family moments and events we create for our clients.

Jessie Myer and Chip Cooper Got Married!
The sweltering 92 degree heat didn't keep the guests at the wedding of Jessie Myer and Chip Cooper from enjoying the festivities! The bride was beautiful and the ceremony was performed out between the pool and the bayou.
The bride loves daisies. I have never seen so many varieties. Rick Ferguson of Rick Ferguson Flowers in Alexandria, LA provided all of the fresh arrangements and assisted the hostess in coordinating the afternoon events. Family and friends drove many miles to attend and they all had such a wonderful time.
For the reception, the bride and groom chose this menu. Shrimp and crabmeat stuffed pistolettes, deep fried and covered by crawfish etoufee, chicken and sausage jambalaya, mini muffelettos, Louisiana crawfish bread, brandied apricot and fig torte, spinach salad with raspberry vinagrette, voodoo cheese, jalapeno-chicken pinwheels, mini blt's, mini crawfish pies, crudite, fresh fruit and summer punch.
Dianne Evans and the entire Best Catered Events staff wish the happy newlyweds a wonderful future! Good Luck!

Wonderful Day for A Wedding! May 15, 2010
Loyd Hall provided a beautiful backdrop for the reception of Lauren Patty and Tim Daskivich on Saturday, May 15, 2010. Both the bride and groom are doctors in Los Angeles and friends and family from all over the world attended their special day.
Rain, rain, it wouldn't go away, but what a lovely time everyone had. Rusty Allen played for the first hour and a half during dinner and then the Baton Rouge band Bits and Pieces turned up the beat and everyone danced the night away under the tent. If you attended this reception you had a good time!
I loved the florals and tablescapes by Missy Booty. The couple did the whole nature and insect theme which was awesome. Each table had a name with beautiful fresh florals and gold chargers and I remember distinctively that the bride and grooms table was the Dragonfly. The sign in book was a book of beautiful pictures of insects. I had never in 21 years seen this particular theme and it really worked. Two alcohol bars, a bourbon bar with cigars, and a punch and tea station were positioned around the pavillion and the tent area. Mrs. Nancy Richards did a fabulous job of coordinating the days events. Guests arrived and departed on busses, so the out of town guests got to enjoy everything. Atwoods Bakery brought in the cakes which were absolutely beautiful and enjoyed by all
Best Catered Events wishes Lauren and Tim all the best in their new life together. We will always remember our "Dragonfly" wedding reception at Loyd Hall.
