Jen and Andy got married! Greenwood Plantation - March 26, 2011

Glorious Day!  The temperature hovered around 80 earlier in the day, but was picture perfect at around 75 degrees with a light breeze when Jennifer Blackwood married Andy at Greenwood Plantation on Saturday, March 26th.

When Best Catered Events owner, Dianne Evans met with this beautiful bride, her mom, sister, father and stepmom back in late Summer of 2010, she was told they wanted a fun day.

As we turned off  LA Hwy 61 and saw the first signs, we knew this couple wanted to make sure their guests found the location they had chosen for this special day.  They had planned the day perfectly.

The staff at Greenwood Plantation is always so accomodating and this day was no exception.  The couple was surrounded by lavish pink azaleas in full bloom, absolutely breathtaking.

The cakes were created by Cake Goddess, the flowers by Four Seasons Florist, the band was Soulhaven, and Best Catered Events provided food and bar service.  The bride and groom had a signature drink,
"The Higginwood".  Our staff members passed the specialty drink, voodoo in savory cones atop a bed of green split peas, our mini blt's, and our taco rolls.  The menu was smoked peppered pork loin with freshly baked rolls and condiments including Sweet Baby Ray's barbeque sauce, Shrimp Etoufee with fluffy rice, Crabmeat Mornay, Louisiana Crawfish Stuffed Bread, Chicken Salad on Crossaints, Veggie Crudite Cups with Chipotle Ranch Dip, Ham and Asparagus Roll Ups, Veggie Pizza Squares, fresh fruit including Louisiana Strawberries with Gran Marinier Dip (these berries were grown in Springfield, LA) and our famous Summer Punch.

The favors were handmade, scented, fleur de lis soaps tucked into black voille pouches.  Green hydrangeas were the bride's choice for flowers and they were gorgeous!  The happy couple departed in a 1938
Roadster belonging to a friend of Jennifer's dad.
Our staff did their usual "awesome job" and always go above and beyond to provide exceptional service to all guests.

Best Catered Events wishes the newlyweds a wonderful, happy and fun life together.  You certainly started off your married life together in a great way!

Thank You to EMIYOSHI !!

Best Catered Events owner Dianne Evans won 5 cases of her choice from  EMIYOSHI at the CaterSource Conference and Tradeshow in Las Vegas on March 1st.

It didn't take this owner long to make her choices and with the help of Gary Witek, Western Regional Sales Manager, she ordered her freebies.

These cases arrived and much to her delight, they are absolutely perfect for upcoming events.

Special thanks once again to EMIYOSHI !  I love all of your mini dishes.  I have bought your products for many years and will continue to do so!

What Happens in Vegas....Comes Back With Best Catered Events!

Dianne Evans attended the Catersource Conference and Tradeshow in Las Vegas for the past 5 days.  So many classes to attend, so many new items to see at the Tradeshow, so much networking and so much fun!

International Caterers Association presented Dianne with a full paid scholarship to the conference as well as a cash award.  Many thanks to the committee members for their consideration and honor.

The Tradeshow was exciting and Dianne even won a large prize at the EMI YOSHI booth.  She got to select 5 full cases of anything featured in the booth.  Talk about a caterer with a blank check!  Thanks to EMI YOSHI for the prize and all of your assistance at the booth.  Looking forward to unpacking the boxes when they arrive at the commissary.

When you are planning your next event, give us a call.  We are energized and ready to show off our new ideas......ARE YOU ?
