90 Year Old says, "Today Was The Best Day of My Life"
My grandmother, Mary Christine Hawkins celebrated her 90th birthday today. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren pitched in and got beautiful cakes, ice cream, food, punch and soft drinks, balloons, centerpieces and banners. When everything was put out she loved it!
After arriving to her "Surprise Party"which was held at Faith Baptist Church, granny visited with everyone for the 2 hour event. So many made long trips to be there and she enjoyed hugging and visiting with each one. She never sat down for the entire time....amazing, and she is 90!! One quality I can always remember about my granny.....she makes each person feel special....and I have always loved it!
As her oldest grandchild, I am so proud of this remarkable lady. She taught me at a very young age how to work, how to have pride in your work, how to be respectful and how to treat customers the way you want to be treated. The values I hold dear today were reinforced by her during my formative years.
I called her this evening and told her how much I enjoyed being at her birthday party. She replied, "Di, I have been on this earth for 90 years and I never even thought about having something like that party happen, today was the Best Day of My Life!" I love my granny!
May she live to be 150!!!! God Bless and Keep Her.....love, Dianne
