"Believe" - Santa Meet and Greet - Macy's Department Store - Mall of Louisiana - Baton Rouge, Louisiana - Monday, December 19, 2011

There was much excitement in the air!  The line of children with their parents in tow had started getting longer around 4:30pm and Santa wasn't due to arrive until 6 pm.  Announcements came over the loud speaker and anticipation was everywhere.  When is he coming?  Will he be here on time?  Will I get to talk to him?  What if a reindeer has gotten sick, or if their is alot of traffic?  We all know that traffic at the Mall Of Louisiana is really heavy when you get this close to Christmas.

Magically.....you must BELIEVE!!!! And those children did, they did BELIEVE!!!!

Then at exactly, 6 o'lock on the nose, we heard the Cajun band, saw the elves, and then, yes, it was Santa himself, there was a balloon artist and a  face painter.  Santa introduced his two elves, Holly Berry and Cinnamon to the crowd and asked all the children to gather around while he read them a story.  Wonder in a children's eyes, lots of children's eyes as the white bearded Santa began the story.  The children then rejoined their parents and picture taking began.  Santa made sure each child had a small gift from him and there were many letters to Santa being put into that special red Macy's BELIEVE mailbox.

Best Catered Events team members Kathy Jones and Tiffany, provided White Chocolate Cocoa and Hot Chocolate to everyone that wanted to try it.  Garnished off with fresh whipped cream and chocolate shavings and crushed candy canes, we had lots of takers.  There were plenty of big, soft sugar cookies shaped like a star had been specially made and individually packaged for this event.

Special thanks to Samantha Lister for the booking and of course to Santa for letting me whisper my wish list into his ear......you know...Santa, I don't want much this year.....continued health for my family and all those dear to me.

Have fun at your next stop Santa.  Nashville, Tennessee, home of the Grand Old Opry.  Hey, say hello for me, Nashville is one of my favorite places to visit!

Merry Christmas to everyone....from Best Catered Events!

www.LOVE! Matthew Hickey and Shannon Parent - 11-19-2011

Matthew Hickey and Shannon Parent met on the World Wide Web!

Matt said after only the first few  dates he knew Shannon was the one.  The groom said it was scary how well they fit and Shannon also tells me that she knew Matt was the one and that it seems like everything she and Matt have done, they have done backwards. They were together about a year and a half before their wedding today.  Shannon said she had picked out her wedding gown before the proposal and the groom proposed before he had a ring!

This sweet couple was surrounded by many friends and family tonight for their wedding.  The ceremny was very special and intimate, and tears flowed with happiness. They definitely moved forward today!

From Dianne Evans and the staff at Best Catered Events, we wish you two the BEST!

See you on on the World Wide Web!  You can always find us at http://www.bestcateredevents.com/

Picnic At South - Sunday, October 30, 2011

Sunday, October 30, 2011 was a great day for the members of South Baton Rouge Church of Christ.  The church held it's Sunday service at their property on Highland Road in Baton Rouge, Louisiana with lunch immediately afterwards.

Best Catered Events provided 4 serving lines for the 500 guests and served up a very hearty Fall meal of
Smoked Pork Loin with an Apricot Chutney, Sweet Potato Casserole, Homestyle Green Beans, Garden Salad w/Ranch, French Bread and good old fashioned Apple Crisp for dessert.

Having catered for this group several times, we like the challenge of doing the service faster and we beat our own record this year.  We fed everyone in just under 15 minutes!  Not bad for some Oldie but Goodie Folks like us.  Of course, we do have a few members that are under the age of fifty, but as a team, we really work together well.

Special thanks once again for the committee that selected Best Catered Events to provide the luncheon meal.  We look forward to working with you again in the future....who knows, we may eventually get down the serving time to under 10 minutes! But on second thought, don't hold your breath....we are getting older!

When You Smile, I Smile.....Jennifer and Tim Corcoran.....

Jennifer Segura and Tim Corcoran were married on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at the beautiful Plains Presbyterian Church in Zachary, LA.

The couple is so sweet.  They finish each other's sentences, they smile and laugh so openly and they are so very happy and absolutely in love.

Hi, I am Dianne Evans, owner of Best Catered Events in Prairieville, LA and I met this couple and helped them achieve their dream reception.  This was a complete joy for me, and I am honored to have been chosen to work with such a precious couple.

The reception followed the Christian ceremony in the Fellowship Hall of the church.  A very nice building and we were providing food and beverages for their families and closest friends.

The menu was:
Chicken Cordon Bleu Pasta
Peppered Pork Tenderloin w/freshly baked rolls and condiments
Shrimp and Crab Stuffed Mushrooms
Spinach and Artichoke Dip w/chips and crackers
Crawfish Bread
Raspberry Hazlenut Torte w/Lemon Cookies
Fresh Fruit and Cheese
Crudite w/ ranch dip
Southern Sweet Tea

Today's crowd loved the food and I was so happy to see many familiar faces.  Melinda White coordinated the ceremony flawlessly.  Sara Sue Day decorated the church and put the flowers on the wedding cake, wonderful work and so detailed as always.  Amanda Miller, a friend of Jennifer's baked the cakes, which we heard over and over again were delicious.  The groom's cake was a farm scene and so cute!

Thank you to Tim and Jennifer, we look forward to hearing from you as you begin your new lives together!!

Best Wishes....from our heart to yours!
